A very good project!
It has given me some ideas of the way the different countries work with health
and nursing and how the different systems take care of their elderly people.
What impressed me was that time was found for talking with one another
among the participants in the project. It was possible to get a professional
answer (depending on your own interest in the education) and this without
involving all participants.
But what stroke me the most was that in the Baltic countries it is the family
and the NGO´ s who take care of the elderly people. Here in Denmark
we are handing the caring over to the system.
It would maybe be a good idea if the family had to take more responsibility.
As it is now the demands only go one way.
All together 5 stars *****

CULTURAL
- interesting to show your own city, which gave new impressions of your own
surroundings.
PROFESSIONAL
- get a new view of own working life
- become aware of the things which function well.
- be impressed to see that other people were moved by seeing our system
- interesting to compare educational systems
- interesting to hear about different ways of organizing the Public Health Care
in the different countries
- the social aspect of being together in a network where you have common goal,
- the interaction between people and at the same time the interaction between
different cultures
- be aware of each others differences
- to think - talk - explain - understand each other although in a foreign place,
everybody participated
- the elderly people found the project interesting, one of them was inspired
afterwards to write her own life story
SOCIAL
- it was great fun to prepare the farewell-dinner including cooking together
- when we want the same = go together, we can reach a lot.

It was quite a challenging experience to participate in the project ”Laterne
Nordica”.
My greatest concern was my english , would I be able to communicate with and
oblige the people from Estonia – Latvia – Russia- Finland –Sweden
?
Luckily it was ”no problem” - We all used a broken english and we
all felt at equal terms.
I experienced a feeling of beeing pride of my city Aarhus, and also of my practise-place
, which I showed to the Latvian Group.
Later I quided through the city of Aarhus dressed for christmas.
We exchanged many pupil-experience, which was very exciting and instructive.
It has opened my eyes for our neighbour countries and has showed how much we
can learn from each other.
Despite our differences in cultur and mentality we are as human beeings much
alike.
